Turn the indoor unit off and disconnect power in the manner specified by its manufacturer.
Open the front panel, remove the washable mesh filter, vacuum or rinse it as directed, dry it completely in shade, reinstall it, and close the panel securely.
Do not touch the aluminum fins, blower wheel, wiring, drain pan, or refrigerant piping.

Shut down the equipment
Use the remote or wall control to stop operation.
Then use the approved breaker, switch, plug, or service disconnect described in the manual.
Wait for the fan to stop.
Do not work with wet hands.
The internal fan can rotate at high speed, and cleaning energized equipment can cause injury or electrical shock.
Open the front panel carefully

Reassemble
Once filters are completely dry:
- Install specialty filters in the correct frames.
- Slide main filters into their tracks.
- Confirm every tab seats.
- Close the panel slowly.
- Restore power.
- Reset the filter indicator where documented.
- Run the system.
- Confirm normal airflow and sound.
A filter installed backward or outside its track can bypass dust into the coil.
Cleaning frequency

Inspect more often with:
- Pets
- Smoke
